The best season to have a wedding is the winter season. Nothing can beat the beauty of falling snow and trees covered in dripping white snow. This also the time of Christmas and people everywhere are in their best spirits. The ambiance created by falling snow and white landscapes is something out of fantasy books. What better time to have a wedding than this perfect dream like setting? A winter wedding like any other wedding needs a wedding cake too. There are no weddings without a wedding cake, be it a winter, summer, spring or autumn wedding.

Having a traditional vanilla flavored three tiered cake is a good idea but the cold season is perfect to experiment with different varieties of cakes too. You can bring an assortment of ice creams or mousses into the cake to bring out an entirely different taste or texture. The advantage of a cold climate is that you can experiment with a wide variety of cold assortments to go along with the cake. The fear of your ice creams or mousses melting in the heat is absent in a winter wedding. Instead of ice creams, cool mint lacing with spun sugar will also look and taste great on winter wedding cakes.

There are plenty of resources from where you can get ideas on flavors, fillings, designs, frostings or toppings for the winter cake. A good cake designer can help you decide on the theme you want and create a cake that revolves around that theme. The Internet is also home to a lot of winter cake ideas. A half hour of web surfing will throw up thousands of winter cake ideas and all you have to do is pick and choose any from them. A wedding in winter is truly memorable and a well-designed wedding cake for the winter wedding will stay in people’s minds very long.
